The weight of the winding motor must be compensated when it is coupled directly to the fabric and winding and unwinding with the fabric. One of the methods is to use a counterweight. An alternative is to use a Dacron strap. This 100mm-wide polyester strap is not sensitive to stretching and moisture. The belt is wound a few times around the winding shaft and fastened together with the winding fabric and tensioned to the purlin together with the fabric. The dacron strap supports the motor as it were and avoids straining the fabric.
A perfectly rolled screen, with no folds or sagging fabric, is what good sidewall ventilation or screening should look like. When the motor gearbox rolls up and down together with the fabric, the weight of the motor must be supported. In this way the fabric is not loaded and optimal even winding is obtained.
Specially for this application, De Gier Drive Systems has developed highly efficient solutions, which are easy to assemble and require no additional cost.
