Metalworking
Our core business is to convert base metals into drives with added value. We manufacture almost all our drive components ourselves. We do this to ensure the right quality. It allows us to control the entire process. As a production worker in our machining department, you will work with the most advanced equipment and the best tools. You will lay the foundations that underpin the quality of our parts. During your work, you will be able to rely on electronic measuring equipment, fully automated tool storage, robots, and advanced milling machines. You have a close affinity with metalworking and all kinds of machining, and above all you are a skilled specialist. You are very familiar with the operation of advanced equipment.

Assembly
When all the parts produced by the machining department meet our strict quality standards, they still need to be put together to create a drive system. As an assembly employee, you play a crucial role in this process. You ultimately ensure the right action is taken with the right parts for product assembly. We use state-of-the-art assembly lines that allow us to assemble large series efficiently at the same time. The assembly lines will guide you through successive operations with the right parts and tools. These lines will allow you to work in an ergonomically responsible way. As an assembly employee, you will be responsible for the quality of the end product. Accuracy and an eye for quality are therefore important competencies.

Sales
Our sales people are the key to our success. They listen to our domestic and international customers and translate customer wishes into solutions and products. De Gier's sales people all have a great deal of experience in one or more markets. Their background and their knowledge of our products allow them to make active contributions to our customers and go the extra mile to fulfil ambitions and find suitable solutions. If no suitable solution is readily available, they work with the R&D department to assess the possibilities for a specific product. That is how we make things happen at De Gier. We also feel it is very important to communicate with our (international) customers in their own language as much as possible and with respect for their time zone. Our sales staff are always ready to help our customers in commercial and technical matters.

Logistics
When the factory expanded in 2018, the entire floor area was rearranged. A great deal of attention was given to a logical layout for better logistics. For example, we provided loading and unloading docks for fast and efficient loading and unloading. To efficiently supply production with the necessary parts and tools, we provided various storage locations for this process. Our Logistics department uses all the modern facilities we have available. Logistics plays an important role in the optimisation of our output. The Logistics department also prepares the freight and export documents, schedules the transports, and stays in touch with suppliers, customers and customs. Logistics is responsible for De Gier's delivery reliability and short delivery times.

Research & Development
Our engineers in the R&D department work on new and better products every day. De Gier is known for drive solutions that offer the best value for money. Our customers around the world demand more sustainable, smarter and better products. We achieve this by consulting our customers and our Sales department on what the market needs. R&D is responsible for the entire process from the concept phase to production and the commissioning of products and processes. Key R&D parameters include product quality development, cost optimisation, efficient use of product tools, and reduction of development lead times. Continuous market research into new technologies and processes keeps our eye on the ball. R&D is in close contact with Production, Purchasing, Sales and Management.

Administration
As a medium-sized enterprise with international customers, we fulfil the necessary administrative obligations. We have used an ERP system for many years to support the entire process of purchasing, production, sales and all administrative operations involved. Our lean Administration department keeps a close eye on our income and expenditure. The Administration department's tasks include accounting, liquidity management and reporting by and to Management. Our Administration also maintains personnel files, answers staff questions and deals with GDPR issues. In addition to our investments in facilities and production resources, De Gier regularly invests in the optimisation of the ERP system. We want to make sure our IT works for De Gier in the best possible way rather than the other way round.
