De Gier Drive Systems expands

De Gier Drive Systems in Wateringen has been working hard for several months to expand its existing location. Expansion was a logical consequence of the company's continued growth. The building's total area will more than double.

De Gier Drive Systems manufactures drive technology such as motor gearboxes, gear racks, worm gearboxes and associated accessories for ventilation, screening and hoisting systems. These drive systems are used in horticulture, intensive livestock farming and non-residential buildings.

Managing Director Rob Sandberg: "Our tremendous growth in recent years has meant that we need more space for our machines and assembly. This expansion allows us to optimise our layout and routing. The newly introduced integrated logistics and line assembly will increase our productivity on the shop floor. We have also paid a lot of attention to creating ergonomic workspaces for our employees. "

A large part of the new building has an underground floor. This basement will be used for logistical purposes and as a car park. Two dock shelters have also been created in the new section. This will make loading and unloading of trucks and containers far easier.

Rob Sandberg: "We are incredibly busy, so our daily production continues unabated during these large-scale renovations. That is why we intend to have the new part of our factory operational as soon as possible. We can't wait to expand our position in the global market further."
